Be prepared : Dressed with food in the fridge and water in the tank!

I had a dream two nights ago and in this dream the youth of our church came to my home. I was in my pyjamas. But as they came I went to the toilet and got dressed. I also found that there wasn't food in the fridge or water in the water tank. But the youth made themselves at home and I was quite at peace with that and hospitality and relationship happened. Next I saw that I was sitting at table on the street with other people eating, and as we sat, I saw rivers of water flowing out of our houses onto the streets to the people who needed water.

As I pondered this I believe what the Lord is saying is that the youth revival is about to happen very shortly and we need to be a people who are ready, prepared, dressed in the clothes of righteousness, not sleeping, with food being the word of God to feed them, and the water tanks full so full of the Holy Spirit, and as we rest, like in Psalm 23 beside still waters he will "set a feast before us in the presence of our enemies" & out of the relationship and fellowship with each other, it will flow onto the streets where the presence of the Lord is needed the most.

“I am ruined for the ordinary” A statement that can possibly be to some, come from a place of judgement, or it can be from a place of there is more in the Kingdom of God that I am yet to experience or understand, revelation that I have tasted of something that actually shows me that I have not tasted of anything yet. A place where there is such a contentment and joy in what I have seen and longed to see and yet a revelation that there is way more "beyond what I think, ask and imagine" (Eph 3:20) and one that spurs me on to seek and discover all the fullness that could be ours in the Kingdom of God. When we as Christians see other Christians going places or experiencing things that we don’t understand or perhaps we have not yet moved in, we can either become jealous of that person and judge and bring them down to our level, exclude them from our lives or we can choose to be excited by what is happening and be encouraged and spurred on in the Lord for the more than ca...

Obedience and Commitment are big things in Gods Kingdom

Reading in Acts 7 this morning the story through Stephen of Abraham being told by God to " Leave your country and your people and go the the land I will show you" So he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After the death of his father, God sent him to this land where you are now living. He gave him no inheritance here, not even a foot of ground. But God promised him that he and his descendants after him would possess the land, even though at that time Abraham had no child." As I reflected on this and the journey of Abraham stepping out in faith into a land that he received no inheritance in but a promise of what was to come for his descendants of which we live in the fruit of that, I thought of todays generations in which often is only doing things that we want to do or that will benefit us personally as we live for 'today' not worrying about tomorrow. 23 May 2012 Dear friends and partners, Psalm 34:1-3 I will extol the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips. My soul will boast in the Lord; Let the afflicted hear and rejoice. Glorify the Lord with me; Let us exalt His name together . This was in my journal this morning and was so appropriate for where things are at.! God’s timing is just amazing. In the last update Jim’s work was coming to an end but the Lord had spoken about Step Up & Step In – the mini conference we had earlier this month, which because of the Lords timing in less work for Jim enabled him to concentrate on preparation for the conference. The conference was such a blessing and everything the Lord had been teaching us over the years was released in the peace, rest and freedom then reigned over it. The next step - Teaching people to move in the freedom of the Spirit

This morning I woke up with a dream where I was teaching people how to walk in the freedom of the Spirit and so I believe the Lord is asking me to teach people how to do this and in so doing, we share our story of where it all begun for us and how did we get to where we are now. This is a question that is sometimes posed to me and in beginning to share our journey I do so because I believe what is going to come is a move of the spirit in such a way that it will transform nations, as we become a people of the Spirit and not of the flesh. Where as we step out in the things of the Spirit, God is going to move powerfully even though it is not of the usual form or the way we have seen it before, but we know it is of God and the fruit testifies to the presence of God. "A man's enemies will be the members of his own household" Matt 10:36

Recently we have been pondering how to deal with situations in our family that don't line up with the word. What action do we need to take? Are we being too harsh? Do we accept the behaviour or be considered by those around us as "too radical" or "too black and white"? "Where is grace in all of this? How do we love the sinner but hate the sin? What about forgiveness? What is the role of discipline? What makes that sin any worse than lying? What is true love? And there are a lot more questions going through the mind in how to work through this and know God's will and desire for the situation and the person. And firstly to say we have not come to any conclusions and are growing and learning day by day in this but I want to throw it out there. Today's complacency will lead to tomorrows captivity

While Jim & I were in bible college training to go on to the mission field, one thing we learnt was that we needed to be continual learners. And over time I have found if I am not learning, if I am not growing in the Lord in some area of my life, then more than likely I have stepped into a place of pride without even realising it or have become 'comfortable' and content with where things are at. To be a continual learner is to position yourself that you are continually growing, being challenged in your thinking, perhaps being called to step out in something you have never done before that you know God is speaking to you about. It's a place of questioning yourselves "why am I not seeing what I believe for yet?" in the Lord, those promises perhaps that He has already spoken about, and then stepping into them in faith trusting that God will lead the way.
