2020 - A year of multiplication

1 Peter 4:10

"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen."

Gift of Hospitaltiy

I have been reading through 1 Peter and the above scripture stood out to me. As we ponder this New Year and all that God would have us do or step into by faith, we don't need to look far outside of what is already in our hands and what we naturally love to do. We are all gifted in many ways, for example, I love hospitality and it is a gift I have and so the Lord is encouraging me in that gift again. But we all have different gifts and when we function in who God made us to be, we are fulfilled in who we are as a person and also God is glorified through us as we serve him.

Some love to bake, some love to sow, some love to teach and preach, some love to play musical instruments, some love to do administration, some love to create new inventions etc etc. They are a grace we have been given by God that only we can do the way God called us to do it. When we use the gifts we have been given to the glory of God, then He gets the glory, His name gets praised.

So I encourage you, perhaps you may have 'dropped' moving or working in the natural gift that the Lord has given you for whatever reason, how about considering picking it up again? Perhaps you have a gift that the body needs that is not known and so isn't currently being used, but could be should it be made known. The church that you go to may not be functioning in that gift at the moment because they don't have that person to do that. For example in our church we would love a youth ministry but currently have no one who has put their hand up to release that gift within the church and grow that ministry. So I encourage you to step forward and let your gifts be made known to the house in which you go to, so they can help you flow and function in all God created you to be and hence you will be blessed to be a blessing.

May this year be fruitful and abundant with all that the Lord has put in your hands and grow and multiply all that you step out in faith with and sow the gifts and talents expecting a harvest as the Lord waters and grows what is sown.

Obedience and Commitment are big things in Gods Kingdom

Reading in Acts 7 this morning the story through Stephen of Abraham being told by God to " Leave your country and your people and go the the land I will show you" So he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After the death of his father, God sent him to this land where you are now living. He gave him no inheritance here, not even a foot of ground. But God promised him that he and his descendants after him would possess the land, even though at that time Abraham had no child." As I reflected on this and the journey of Abraham stepping out in faith into a land that he received no inheritance in but a promise of what was to come for his descendants of which we live in the fruit of that, I thought of todays generations in which often is only doing things that we want to do or that will benefit us personally as we live for 'today' not worrying about tomorrow. I shared last night about 1 Cor 15:36 "What you sow does not come to life unless it dies. When you sow, you do not plant the body that will be, but just a seed, perhaps of wheat or of something else. But God gives it a body as he has determined, and to each kind of seed he gives its own body..." I was preaching on it last night and it will come up in video form later in the week on the GRM sight, mainly reflecting on we can sow things one way, but God raises it up as HE determines how it should look. But this morning I got more revelation which will be quite obvious to some, but to me it struck me afresh. When we sow something it get's buried, it cannot be pulled back up. It no longer has 'connection' with 'me' if you like. It gets 'covered over' unable to be pulled up. And yet I recognise in my own life how we can sow something but there are still 'strings attached' as such as we often are still determining or expecting it be rai...

Arise & Shine, let your voice be heard

To speak or not to speak – this is the question? Or perhaps it should be ‘how to speak?’ We live in a world where the rights of man are rising, the voices of differences of opinion are growing stronger and louder. The justice of the world, right and wrong as seen through our own eyes, starting to arise. I n this nation of NZ where "tall poppy syndrome' has been an issue as the accepted norm of the past, people are breaking out, rising up and learning to use their voice. As rightly we ought as Christians. All good things to happen, all needed to happen. For the bride to stand, awaken and arise and to shine for righteousness and justice. To stand up for the poor and needy, to speak on behalf of those who can't. With anything new, you have the swings in the spectrums as we all learn how to walk in a new way. What do Kingdom finances look like?

I was asked by someone the other day what Kingdom finances looked like and I realised that this is an area that needs some discussion. This is my opinion of what Kingdom finances look like according to what the Lord has taught me over the years and to scriptures I have been shown, but I am not the be all and end all to thinking, so it is something you might want to check out for yourselves. The way of the world is to store up riches, to save for a rainy day, to have enough to protect themselves should something happen, that I have earned this and it is mine and therefore I can do what I want with it. The way of the Kingdom is a way of giving to the poor, giving to God's people in need and practicing hospitality, of not worrying about tomorrow, of trusting God for the future and His provision in that time of need when it arises, of everything is His (God's). I believe that if you see a need in front of you and you have something in which can help with that need, whatever it is,...

Just saying....

Yesterday when praying I got the picture of Jesus being born in a stable and the simplicity of that. I saw how the three wise men were led by a star and that they were willing to follow that star no matter how far it took them or the cost involved, so as to find the promised Messiah. It made me think how complex our church services are, how organised, how planned, how much advertising it takes etc etc. And I started to laugh as I realised how far we have gone from the simplicity of the stable, from the simplicity of the leading of the star, from the cost and the journey it took made by the wise men in pursuing and finding the promised Messiah. How Jesus, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords was not seen by the religious leaders of the time because he did not come as they expected as a King. Instead He came opposite to the worldly thinking of the King. He came in humility, born in a stable, available and accessible for the ordinary person. Yet He was and...

Are you comfortable and familiar with things?

This morning I had this picture where I saw two large different animals that had somehow turned up in my home and they were taking over the lounge and they needed feeding. They were peaceful animals but the space they took was huge, taking over my lounge. As I asked the Lord what these animals were I saw that they were ‘comfortable’ and ‘familiar’ and I saw I was quite happy for them to stay as they weren’t bothering anybody but they needed feeding and were taking up space. But I know that these ‘spirits’ are destructive to kingdom living. We can very easily become comfortable and familiar with things, with ways of doing things, of acceptance of things that are not of the Lord, of believing and justifying its alright if we continue to live the way we do, even of things such as pain and so we continue to accept it and live with it when the Lord may want to heal, things like ways of reacting, speaking or anger may also too be areas that you may have become comfortable and fami...
