2018 in Reflection and where to in 2019?

Firstly a huge thank you to all who have journeyed with us this past year.  It has been a great year of growth and expansion in many stepping up and stepping into new things that the Lord has encouraged each to step up into.  You all have been amazing! Some of the growth this year has been: A year of two services on a Sunday Shifting into two different buildings New groups formed - Wednesday Womens, Thursday Evenings and Mens Ministry Interns  Guest Speakers School of the Spirit Labour Weekend of Worship Financial Increase Invitations within New Zealand and Overseas for teaching and training. None of this would have been possible without your support and encouragement practically, spiritually, financially and emotionally.   Some of the words of the Lord in brief over the past year. "Restructuring of the Body of Christ" "Change is coming and it will happen quickly." "How long will you wait before you enter the promised land?" "

He makes me look great!.

There is a saying that behind every great man there is a great woman and it is said to be true of the other way around as well. But I say, behind every great person of God there is a Great God. We can often attribute success or a persons giftings' to a persons ability, talent, drive, character, nature, etc but for me as a Christian, whose nature and character is in Christ and as one who has died, been buried and raised again in Christ, I am a new creation and that new creation comes from only one person - Jesus Christ. I was mediating on the word this morning that was brought in church yesterday, Psalm 18 and in particular the scriptures 32-36: "It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. He makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he causes me to stand on the heights. He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend a bow of bronze. You make your saving help my shield, and your right hand sustains me; your help has made me great. You provide a

Meerkats may be cute, but they can be dangerous.

This morning I saw in a dream I was in a car with some people travelling along and they saw a bunch of meerkats that they thought were cute and they invited them into the car.  I was trying to tell them not to let them in, but they continued to let them in.  And then shortly after that I saw another very cute animal that people wanted to pick up and cuddle, but it too was a very dangerous animal that would cause harm. As I was asking the Lord about it and I got the scripture; "There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death" Prov 14:12 For myself personally I am looking at next year and praying and asking the Lord for the plans for next year as many of you leaders may be doing the same.  We can continue with what seems right and good, and has gone well in the past, but I believe the Lord is saying, be careful as what you think may seem right and good, actually may cause harm. I encourage you, especially Pastors and Leaders, don't necessar

Labour Weekend 2018 In Reflection

We had an amazing weekend with Labour Weekend and so I wanted to share some photos, some words that the Lord brought, so that what He did, doesn't get lost in the busyness and distractions of the next day and share some testimonies. Firstly - A thank you and testimony: Dear Team...  to everyone involved in an amazing weekend. WOW.. Weekend Of Worship !!  it sure was WOW !!!   Thank you SO much team... there are not words enough to express deep gratitude to you all, for allowing the Lord to use you all to minister to us in deep and wonderful ways.  The Lord bless you all abundantly !! Some words/pictures brought; Encounter/Visitation -   Jim shared about from the moment of visitation to the promise, things can almost look like they are going backwards before you are thrust into the destiny.   For example Joseph went to prison before he fed a nation.  And so not giving up in the in-between from visitation to the promise land.  David was running around in the desert hiding i

Burn the Ships - No turning back!

The other day Jim and I were given a word that we had 'burnt the ships' and I feel it is a word in season for the body of Christ in that we must be a people who 'burn the ships', 'no turning back' in our thinking, moving forward into the promises of God by faith, do not doubt, but step in trusting that God will do what he says he will do. http://travisrobertson.com/leadership/burn-ships-succeed-die/ If God has been saying as a body to step into the land he has promised, then why are we not?  Are we afraid of making the 'wrong decision'.  Afraid we will get it wrong?  Whatever the reason's as to why we are not moving and perhaps sitting in indecision we need to speak the truth to. For example, for us as a ministry recently we have been looking at our need of office buildings and so to step in by faith into leasing a building without the finances on hand but knowing that God is saying expansion, enlargement, people are coming etc and needing to p

Education changes the fabric of community

Hosea 4:6  "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" "Education changes the fabric of community" was a quote by one of the ladies at the gathering of Women that I went to yesterday.  This quote struck me as I had never seen the impact that can be created in what we are are doing in GRM through "Schools of the Spirit" and in "training and equipping", "in preaching and teaching", people in the variety of ways that we do, how we can effect and change communities and societies. In reality that is what we are doing, if only in a little way, it makes a ripple effect that can change so much more than we think or realise, ask or imagine.(Eph 3:30) They shared about what they consider "success" to look like and they defined it as people who: Had courage Tenacity and Resilience Integrity and humility Creativity Ambition - "Say Yes" Respect This was a gathering of very influential women of society and bus

How long will you wait?

As we sit at the airport to go to Victoria Falls (May 31) I have some time to share a word that the Lord is speaking through. Joshua 18:3 "How long will you wait before you begin to take possession of the land that the Lord, the God of your ancestors, has given you."  So many of us have dreams and visions that the Lord has given us and yet we are waiting for them to come into being. But in Joshua they had seen God do the testimonies as we all have in our lives and yet they were stil l afraid to go into the land. Yes there are giants in the land but nothing is too difficult for the Lord. Often we hold back from going into the promised land because of fear - fear of failure, what others say etc, but if we understood who we belong to and that all of heaven comes to back us up as we step out in faith then we wouldn't hesitate so much.  Joshua 21:44 "The Lord gave them rest on every side. .... Not one of all the Lord's good promises to Israel failed, every one

Dealing with a poverty mindset

This morning I had a dream and what the Lord was saying is that there was a 'begging' mentality happening and instead of believing God would give everything we needed and responding and walking in the authority that He has given each one of us. That He is our daily bread, our daily provision. Instead many of us are like a people begging going around asking for the little scraps that people or God would give. Whatever it is you need today - God is able, in fact more that ab le to do exceedingly more than you think of, ask or imagine. So I pray for you that every poverty mindset that limits who God is in and through you today would be broken in the name and blood of Jesus and that you would walk in the abundance of all that God has for you and those around you. Many blessings - Sarah. If you recognize any of these seven signs in your life, you may have a poverty mentality that God wants to heal you from: This list comes from Kris Vollotton  https://www.charismamag.com/spi

Psalm 66

Often we blame the devil or other people for our situations and circumstances but in Psalm 66 it tells a different story. v10  For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. You brought us into prison and laid burdens on our backs. You let people ride over our heads; we went through fire and water, but you brought us to a place of abundance. Often the Lord allows us to go through things so that our trust is not in man but in God. When things happen we often find ourselves blaming others or God for our situations but in the Lord he turns everything for good, if we allow him too, he brings us into a spacious place. v16  Come and hear, all you who fear God; let me tell you what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and has heard my prayer. Praise be to God, who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his

The baby's been handed over

Several weeks ago the Lord shifted us out of the 'home office' into the 'market place' and in the process a spiritual shift happened - one of letting the 'baby' go, a releasing and handing over the batten, so to speak to others. In this process the nests that WE ALL have been in have been stirred up, shaken about, and pushed out, to fly in ways that perhaps we were too afraid to do previously. The amazing thing with God is that He knows the timing of all of this and where each one of us is at and what we can handle.  Yes there has been a fluttering of wings in panic.  Yes, we have had a few weeks of challenge as authority and structures get changed and challenged, frustrations coming to the fore, but love helps us overcome,  love helps us to forgive,  love helps us to see the good and not the dirt, love helps us remember our own failings and yet forgiveness and grace that the Lord has for me, that I can give to others, remembering it's the glory of G

Change is coming and it will happen quickly

March 17 2018 Stuff.co.nz had a headline that I posted on Facebook, it read: "Change is coming and it will happen quickly" and I said that was a prophetic headline if ever I saw it.  Unbeknown the change that was about to come for Glory Release Ministries, Jim and myself. Psalm 16 :11 "You make known the path of life you will fill me with joy in your presence with eternal pleasures at your right hand." What an interesting two weeks - two weeks of provision, of open doors, of favour, of stepping over the chicken line, of leaning on what we have seen and heard by faith, of moving with the wind of the spirit.  And yet its been years of waiting, and like the movie "I can only Imagine"  what was written in ten minutes that became a song, was a lifetime in the making.  For Jim and I - the things that we have seen start to begin to happen is a lifetime of learning, growing, waiting, trusting, believing, stepping in by faith and also things sometime

Last of the Summer Wine

On Wednesday night we had a gathering and the word of the Lord that came through was the "last of the summer wine" and there was this huge sense of shift in the spiritual realm.  That the things that had been, had come to an end.  That it was the ending of one season and that things would be very different in the future. Where God had been growing us, maturing us, teaches us to really love one another in the small and the sense of family that had been built was never going to be the same again. That there was a time for thankfulness of all that had been in the 'stretching and growing' and a word came saying that season of "Peters' being released was the new things.  Peter whose shadow healed people as he walked, that as a people we would see things happen for us all as we walked with the presence of God overflowing and out of us that we would see lives changed in the marketplaces. In the last week we have seen the 'open door' that we have been pra

God is modernising the building!

Out with the Old, In with the New. Currently at the moment Te Rapa Swimming Pools are going through a restructuring and while they are going through it, some of the main pools are shut down unable to be used while other outside pools have been heated up a little, so they can be used while the work is going on.   It will be messy as builder’s work on what needs to happen in order for the pools to be more accessible and useable for the future. But in the end the change will be worth it. This too I believe is what is happening in the Body of Christ. There is a restructuring going on.   God is updating the building (which is us, we are His temple), modernising how things need to be done, old solid foundation structures are being taken down and being replaced with more modern structures.   However within the foundation structures of the old, there is gold that was always there but had been lost or forgotten about, that will once again be uncovered and admired.   In this proce
