God is modernising the building!

Out with the Old, In with the New.

Currently at the moment Te Rapa Swimming Pools are going through a restructuring and while they are going through it, some of the main pools are shut down unable to be used while other outside pools have been heated up a little, so they can be used while the work is going on.  It will be messy as builder’s work on what needs to happen in order for the pools to be more accessible and useable for the future. But in the end the change will be worth it.

This too I believe is what is happening in the Body of Christ.
There is a restructuring going on.  God is updating the building (which is us, we are His temple), modernising how things need to be done, old solid foundation structures are being taken down and being replaced with more modern structures.  However within the foundation structures of the old, there is gold that was always there but had been lost or forgotten about, that will once again be uncovered and admired.

In this process of change, sometimes we feel a little lost, a little disconnected as we are unsure of what is going on, uncertain of the future and we are trying to find our way back to the familiar of what we know.   There is a call to be patient in the process of change and allow God to go deeper, to unravel us as our dependency has been on what we know and are familiar with and yet things are changing, and they are changing for the better.
Like waiting at a train station at night time in winter to get home and your train has not yet come in and you are waiting for it and there are people going in all directions and the hour feels like it is getting later, but you are still waiting.  Rest assured you will find your way to where the Lord would have you be in time, just be patient.

So I encourage you if you are feeling a little lost and uncertain at the moment, this is just a part of the change that we are in at the moment in the body of Christ as God is wanting to shift and change structures in each one of us, that have been held and a part of us for so long.  Like big concrete walls and in the taking down of those structures in our lives there is gold that has been hidden away unseen for so long that will be once again found.

Matt 5:36
He told them this parable: "No one tears a piece out of a new garment to patch an old one.  Otherwise, they will have torn the new garment and the patch from the new will not match the old.  And no one pours new wine into old wineskins.  Otherwise, the new wine will burst the skins; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined.  No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins. And no one after drinking old wine wants the new, for they say, 'The old is better'."

How do we honour?

This morning I am pondering how we truly show honour to people?  I was thinking about how to honour some people and the Lord said to me “Sarah honour them the way you want to receive honour.”  I found that really interesting as it made me question as to what I see as honour toward me in my own life. While mowing the lawns I came to see that honour is actually shown more deeply from people when it is given from the heart, sown by that particular persons love language perhaps and so often we don’t receive the honour that people are giving us if we are expecting it a certain way.  For instance the other day a beautiful lady in the Lord gave me a couple of very small roses to wear on my clothes.   It was so beautiful and so touched my heart and spoke volumes to me and the honour and love she was showing me because she had thought of me.  Often we miss the love and honour someone is trying to show us because we see it from how we expect to receive ...

Will you play the piano - will you spit and touch a man's toungue?

We had our worship group the other night and to begin with I saw someone playing the playing so I asked if anyone could and would play the piano because that is what I saw happening in the spirit.  I may have been wrong in the what I saw but I stepped out in faith but alas no one stepped forward to play the piano so Jim played it and I believe in this the Lord was teaching us some valuable lessons.  Jim cannot play the piano at all but he was willing to be used. This morning I was reading in Mark 7:32-35  "There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his hand on the man...    Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears.  Then he spit and touched the man's tongue.  He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!).  At this the man's ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly. I was reminded of the other night ...

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!

Dear friends and partners, It is time to have a break over the Christmas and New Year Season.  Thank you for all your support and encouragement over this past year and in all that the Lord has been doing.  It has been an amazing year full of challenge and change and seeing God do all that he said he would do as we stepped out in faith in what we believed he was saying and seeing him come through.  It has been an eventful year!  We wonder what will be revealed over the next month or two? We are excited about 2013 and as He shows us more we will keep you to date step by step as He reveals it.  So far just continuing on the words of 'preparing for expansion' and more recently believing for 'surprising and perhaps radical changes' but have no idea what that looks like yet.  So its like opening Christmas presents as you shake the package, get excited about what it is and try to work it out but just make guesses, but at the proper time all will be revealed. :...

The baby's been handed over

Several weeks ago the Lord shifted us out of the 'home office' into the 'market place' and in the process a spiritual shift happened - one of letting the 'baby' go, a releasing and handing over the batten, so to speak to others. In this process the nests that WE ALL have been in have been stirred up, shaken about, and pushed out, to fly in ways that perhaps we were too afraid to do previously. The amazing thing with God is that He knows the timing of all of this and where each one of us is at and what we can handle.  Yes there has been a fluttering of wings in panic.  Yes, we have had a few weeks of challenge as authority and structures get changed and challenged, frustrations coming to the fore, but love helps us overcome,  love helps us to forgive,  love helps us to see the good and not the dirt, love helps us remember our own failings and yet forgiveness and grace that the Lord has for me, that I can give to others, remembering it's the glory of G...

A beautiful rose to be....

Yesterday I felt this need to go and buy a rose, it was not something I had planned but just felt let by the Holy Spirit to go and buy a rose bush and so I went and they were all on special because it is really the wrong time to plant them, the only ones left were the diseased, not wanted cheap ones which were $9.99 instead of $24.99.  I didn't know why I had to buy them, but I just did and I ended up buying five and then felt I needed to put aside an area in my garden as a special rose garden. After sharing with this to Jim this morning the word came as to why I had to buy roses.  Roses are one of the hardest plants in my opinion to look after and care for, they take a lot of work.  You have to prune them, you have to regularly cut them back and cut off diseased branches, they can be prickly and cause pain, they need regularly spraying to keep the bugs off them and then they may only flower once or twice perhaps more in a season for a seemingly short time compared to a...
