The other day Jim and I were given a word that we had 'burnt the ships' and I feel it is a word in season for the body of Christ in that we must be a people who 'burn the ships', 'no turning back' in our thinking, moving forward into the promises of God by faith, do not doubt, but step in trusting that God will do what he says he will do.

If God has been saying as a body to step into the land he has promised, then why are we not? Are we afraid of making the 'wrong decision'. Afraid we will get it wrong? Whatever the reason's as to why we are not moving and perhaps sitting in indecision we need to speak the truth to.
For example, for us as a ministry recently we have been looking at our need of office buildings and so to step in by faith into leasing a building without the finances on hand but knowing that God is saying expansion, enlargement, people are coming etc and needing to prepare for that expansion and also with the promise that we don't need to worry about finances, then why am I hesitant and not stepping in? Do I actually trust God to do what he says he will do and yet He is a covenant God, completely trustworthy. He cannot lie.
What are the 'what if's' that stop me from moving into the land God has promised? More often than not it is ourselves and our fears, but if we seek the truth that helps us stand firm on our promises, truth from the word of God that says "It's only faith that pleases God", that "God is our provider", that "Don't worry about tomorrow" "that God works all things together for good" etc etc. knowing that God's work done in God's way never lacks God's provision (Hudson Taylor) then fears get swallowed up in faith, inaction gets swallowed up by action.

James 1:6 "But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. that person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do."

Don't let your fears dictate your future.
