Sleeping while driving?

How many of you have ever driven a car and you become so sleepy that you either need to pull over and sleep or you will crash or you continue to drive only to find yourself swerving to avoid a car that comes upon you or even worse find yourself in a crash.

The other day I had a vision where I was preaching and the whole back row in the gathering of men were asleep while I was preaching.   And today I had another vision of driving a car while so sleepy that it was going to cause an accident.

This is what is like for many in our spiritual walk in the Lord, we are going around in our lives spiritually asleep and if we continue to do so will have a serious crash at some point not only causing damage to yourself but to other people who you may not even know.
Men particularly I challenge you to take a look at your lives to see whether you are hearing from the Lord, whether you are responding truthfully to the Holy Spirit and living as He would ask you to live or whether perhaps you are going ‘dull’ to the voice of the Lord and suggest that you take some time to seek His face above the other things that want to be first before Him.

Matt 25:5  “The bridegroom was a long time in coming and they all become drowsy and fell asleep…v13  Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour”.
Prov 6:4-5
“Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.  Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hunters hand and like a bird from the hand of the fowler.”

We were praying on Thursday in the prayer room and a picture that someone saw was of a lamp that was no longer plugged into the power.
Rev 2:4  “You have forsaken your first love.  Remember the height from which you have fallen!  Repent and do the things you did at first.  If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.”

Do you feel/know the anointing of God still, do you feel His power flowing through you, His anointing changing lives around you and so Rev 2 is always a good reminder and I know for myself to continually remember my ‘first love’ where it was ‘easy’ in the Lord, it wasn’t a chore to live the Christian life, it was what I wanted to do. Sometimes we get so busy in the ‘doing’ that we forget our first love, forget the reasons as to why we do what we do, forget the joy of serving and so to take a step asking the Lord to show you where perhaps you have fallen asleep, where you are not walking in the power of God as we ought, to remind you of your first love in Christ and what that looks like or should look like is always a good thing.

May the Lord bless you as you seek His face.

Expectations and frustrations

Last night I had this dream and I saw myself going up the mountain with my husband and as we went up the mountain to the snow I saw the most beautiful waterfall flowing in the bush and the scenery was just beautiful and as we reached base camp there were many people waiting to go on the ski lift to the mountain but they were having to wait because as I watched the snow was melting so fast because the sun was coming out so strong the the snow was melting like right before your eyes and people were no longer able to ski.  People were getting frustrated because they had come to go skiing and now no longer were able to, but for others like myself I so was enjoying the scenery that because the snow was melting there was so much beauty all around.  At the same time there was aeroplanes flying around doing acrobatic flying in the sky and other people were in stands watching the planes flying around. As I looked at this this morning, I believe we are coming into a time where the ...

Is the church a cafe? Did you go to be served or to serve?

I had a dream this morning where I saw that I was working in a cafe.   It was busy, there were people coming and going and we didn’t have everything we needed, we still needed a barista, some customers were helping cook the steak for the hamburgers that Jim was cooking as Jim was rushed off his feet. We needed people to serve the people coming in as I was dealing with all the different ones coming and going.   I saw that people were sitting down in a seat but actually weren’t there to get food, they were just using the seats even though they were not using the cafe.   I saw a council officer come in to inspect things and she saw we still needed a barista and she knew people and was going to help us to find one. There was an older man there who was smoking a cigar and I was keen to have a drag off his cigar. People were wandering through our private home at the back of the cafe.   The cafe remained open because people kept coming.   But I was shown that if I did...

Whats in the garage?

The garage, a place of storage, a place of dealing with things later when time allows, a place often  of mess.  That's whats in our garage anyway. I woke up out of my sleep last night with this 'there's something in the garage'.  So at midnight I woke up Jim and got him out checking out the garage and I found the cars had been left unlocked outside with the windows down, the water heater in the prayer room (one of our garages) was still on from the prayer time that morning, milk on the bench and so thankful that I was woken to check things out. But after this I then had another dream and in this dream we were quests at someone's home invited for dinner but in this home after dinner the host was so concerned about her home and the particular way her curtain was hung it was really fascinating.  She was so wrapped up in her house and how things should be done that she failed to notice her husband sitting on the chair waiting to talk to her and in the end he got up ...

Today's complacency will lead to tomorrows captivity

While Jim & I were in bible college training to go on to the mission field, one thing we learnt was that we needed to be continual learners.  And over time I have found if I am not learning, if I am not growing in the Lord in some area of my life, then more than likely I have stepped into a place of pride without even realising it or have become 'comfortable' and content with where things are at. To be a continual learner is to position yourself that you are continually growing, being challenged in your thinking, perhaps being called to step out in something you have never done before that you know God is speaking to you about.  It's a place of questioning yourselves "why am I not seeing what I believe for yet?" in the Lord, those promises perhaps that He has already spoken about, and then stepping into them in faith trusting that God will lead the way. Samuel Rodriguez say's "Today's complacency will lead to tomorrows captivity." I ...

Dry and weather worn or re-oiled, deep & beautiful?

Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!  Rev 19:9 Last night I had a dream and I saw two wedding parties both celebrating weddings down by the lake and then I saw one wedding party go off and get their food and the other wedding party were asleep resting down by the lake but they were not invited to go and get food yet. There was this sense that they would get food later but this verse kept coming to me about those being invited to the wedding supper and so I wonder if there is a bit of a call that we not be found asleep when the bride groom comes.   (Matt 25: 1-13 The Parable of the Ten Virgins - read it if you don't know it). I was yesterday re-oiling some outside furniture with linseed oil and I realised how badly it needed it and how dry and weather worn it had got over the 3 years in which I hadn't done it and yet it was not a big job, in fact really easy and quick and so I made a mental note to do it again next year so it didn't get...

Do you want to walk in signs, wonders and miracles?

People say to me that they want to walk in signs wonders and miracles and yet..... the cost it takes to do that they are sometimes not willing to pay - yet   Because the reward far outweighs any cost that might come. And I pray that people get a revelation from God of the joy set before them through Jesus! The cost of perhaps walking away from friends that don't believe what you believe or wan t, the cost perhaps of family who reject you because you are radical and taking your faith too far - in their eyes at least, the cost perhaps of leaving houses, fields etc, the cost perhaps of going to a friend and apologising for your behaviour, as you obey what it is the Lord puts on your heart to do and you may need to surrender these. Yes salvation is free through Jesus, but to walk in the anointing of God where you see captives set free around you, where you see the sick healed, where you see lives changed before your eyes, costs you to believe in what Jesus has done and can do, thr...
