Does your boat have life jackets?

Do you go out fishing on a boat without a life jacket? Do you go out on the water unprepared for what may happen? And yet for many Christians this is the state of their Christian walk, they are not prepared for what may come and so when things go wrong they have not spent the time in the word of God, which teaches them truth so that when the enemy comes in like a flood and overwhelms them, they have no where to go except down, because the belt of Truth is like our safety belt that holds us up when the flood threatens to overwhelm us. Truth is the word of God, truth sets us free, truth brings us life and helps us discern what is of God and what is not of God.

A word the Lord was bringing last night is to be prepared and so I encourage you to take the time, set time apart, go in and shut the door to distractions, shut the door to the words the enemy would try and bring, shut the door to discouragement or whatever may be coming that is trying to take your eye, the phone, Facebook, tv etc and spend time in His presence where we are filled and become overflowing and can bring life and light to those around us because what we focus on we become. We need to take the time to focus on Jesus and look full in His wonderful face, and then those things become a shadow in the light of Him. He then becomes the reflection that flows out of us to those around us. May the Lord be the lifter of your head as you spend time with him, may he speak the words you need to hear that encourage you in the way you are to go.

The baby's been handed over

Several weeks ago the Lord shifted us out of the 'home office' into the 'market place' and in the process a spiritual shift happened - one of letting the 'baby' go, a releasing and handing over the batten, so to speak to others. In this process the nests that WE ALL have been in have been stirred up, shaken about, and pushed out, to fly in ways that perhaps we were too afraid to do previously. The amazing thing with God is that He knows the timing of all of this and where each one of us is at and what we can handle. Yes there has been a fluttering of wings in panic. Yes, we have had a few weeks of challenge as authority and structures get changed and challenged, frustrations coming to the fore, but love helps us overcome, love helps us to forgive, love helps us to see the good and not the dirt, love helps us remember our own failings and yet forgiveness and grace that the Lord has for me, that I can give to others, remembering it's the glory of G...

How do we honour?

This morning I am pondering how we truly show honour to people? I was thinking about how to honour some people and the Lord said to me “Sarah honour them the way you want to receive honour.” I found that really interesting as it made me question as to what I see as honour toward me in my own life. While mowing the lawns I came to see that honour is actually shown more deeply from people when it is given from the heart, sown by that particular persons love language perhaps and so often we don’t receive the honour that people are giving us if we are expecting it a certain way. For instance the other day a beautiful lady in the Lord gave me a couple of very small roses to wear on my clothes. It was so beautiful and so touched my heart and spoke volumes to me and the honour and love she was showing me because she had thought of me. Will you play the piano - will you spit and touch a man's toungue?

We had our worship group the other night and to begin with I saw someone playing the playing so I asked if anyone could and would play the piano because that is what I saw happening in the spirit. I may have been wrong in the what I saw but I stepped out in faith but alas no one stepped forward to play the piano so Jim played it and I believe in this the Lord was teaching us some valuable lessons. Jim cannot play the piano at all but he was willing to be used. This morning I was reading in Mark 7:32-35 "There some people brought to him a man who was deaf and could hardly talk, and they begged him to place his hand on the man... Jesus put his fingers into the man's ears. Then he spit and touched the man's tongue. He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him "Ephphatha!" (which means, "Be opened!). Latest Prayer Update

Since writing last – We continue to pray about the tent meeting but the Lord seems to continue to have that on hold as I believe he has another way of doing the same thing but in a new way where the whole body will be used and so we wait until all the pieces come together. Please be patient with us in this. Africa – We continue to have words given to us about Africa and so the Lord is definitely talking about Africa but he seems to be widening the vision with it all, not just Malawi. It seems more like at this stage visiting a number of African Countries wherever the Lord leads, empowering people – a bit like the last China trip but for longer and more countries and so too we wait for all the pieces to fit together. He has said to have our bags packed ready to go at a moments notice and so we have done that by faith, there are just a few other things that need to come together to make this possible. What do Kingdom finances look like?

I was asked by someone the other day what Kingdom finances looked like and I realised that this is an area that needs some discussion. This is my opinion of what Kingdom finances look like according to what the Lord has taught me over the years and to scriptures I have been shown, but I am not the be all and end all to thinking, so it is something you might want to check out for yourselves. The way of the world is to store up riches, to save for a rainy day, to have enough to protect themselves should something happen, that I have earned this and it is mine and therefore I can do what I want with it. The way of the Kingdom is a way of giving to the poor, giving to God's people in need and practicing hospitality, of not worrying about tomorrow, of trusting God for the future and His provision in that time of need when it arises, of everything is His (God's). Wise men come bearing gifts for Jesus.

Thought this morning - "the three wise men came bearing gifts for Jesus", expensive gifts. Thought .... they were wise men What is it to be wise.... The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom according to Proverbs. The expensive gifts they brought were because they recognised a King and you never enter a Kings presence without an offering and yet today we become so 'familiar' with our King that we don't even give Him the honour He is due and we can easily take for g ranted what He has given us. The reason why we have offerings in church???? perhaps a continual reminder for us who our Lord and Saviour is and the honour He is due??
