Are you tired, worn out and needing encouragement right now? It's house makeover time!

I had a dream a few nights ago and in this dream I saw an old house, worn out, tired and run down which I believe represents much of the church (the people, not the building) and yet its structures and foundations were still good, they just needed refreshing and repainting and updating.
After seeing the house, I then saw all these famous people come, (there was this sense they had been before) they were people full of joy, real characters, like Robin Williams, Walt Disney, and others, and they came and did up the house, helping getting it back to on track and when it was back on track and a fresh injection of life had come, they left.

I believe this is a picture of many at the moment, tired, rundown and feeling a bit worn out from the last season, but be encouraged, there are things that are still good in your life, there are good solid foundations and I believe the Lord is going to send his angels to help in the renewing and refreshing process, angels of joy and hope, to restore what has been lost. I believe God wants to restore what has been lost, to refresh and bring new hope to the hopeless.
Along with this picture, the other day I had another picture and I saw all these cars lined up, being serviced and then going through a ‘valet’ process and this is similar to the refreshing and renewing above.
People are being ‘serviced’ and ‘spruced up’, renewed and restored and shining once again.

So if that is you, don’t stress, just relax and allow God to do the work you cannot do.

My prayer for you.May the Lord release refreshment, restoration, joy, hope and life to you today in the name of Jesus. May he restore what has been lost in the last season, may he refresh you with by His spirit, may he restore child like faith and that you would be full of life once again in him, to the glory of His name.

Is the church a cafe? Did you go to be served or to serve?

I had a dream this morning where I saw that I was working in a cafe. It was busy, there were people coming and going and we didn’t have everything we needed, we still needed a barista, some customers were helping cook the steak for the hamburgers that Jim was cooking as Jim was rushed off his feet. We needed people to serve the people coming in as I was dealing with all the different ones coming and going. I saw that people were sitting down in a seat but actually weren’t there to get food, they were just using the seats even though they were not using the cafe. I saw a council officer come in to inspect things and she saw we still needed a barista and she knew people and was going to help us to find one. There was an older man there who was smoking a cigar and I was keen to have a drag off his cigar. People were wandering through our private home at the back of the cafe. Whats in the garage?

The garage, a place of storage, a place of dealing with things later when time allows, a place often of mess. That's whats in our garage anyway. I woke up out of my sleep last night with this 'there's something in the garage'. So at midnight I woke up Jim and got him out checking out the garage and I found the cars had been left unlocked outside with the windows down, the water heater in the prayer room (one of our garages) was still on from the prayer time that morning, milk on the bench and so thankful that I was woken to check things out. But after this I then had another dream and in this dream we were quests at someone's home invited for dinner but in this home after dinner the host was so concerned about her home and the particular way her curtain was hung it was really fascinating. She was so wrapped up in her house and how things should be done that she failed to notice her husband sitting on the chair waiting to talk to her and in the end he got up ...

Expectations and frustrations

Last night I had this dream and I saw myself going up the mountain with my husband and as we went up the mountain to the snow I saw the most beautiful waterfall flowing in the bush and the scenery was just beautiful and as we reached base camp there were many people waiting to go on the ski lift to the mountain but they were having to wait because as I watched the snow was melting so fast because the sun was coming out so strong the the snow was melting like right before your eyes and people were no longer able to ski. People were getting frustrated because they had come to go skiing and now no longer were able to, but for others like myself I so was enjoying the scenery that because the snow was melting there was so much beauty all around. At the same time there was aeroplanes flying around doing acrobatic flying in the sky and other people were in stands watching the planes flying around. Today's complacency will lead to tomorrows captivity

While Jim & I were in bible college training to go on to the mission field, one thing we learnt was that we needed to be continual learners. And over time I have found if I am not learning, if I am not growing in the Lord in some area of my life, then more than likely I have stepped into a place of pride without even realising it or have become 'comfortable' and content with where things are at. To be a continual learner is to position yourself that you are continually growing, being challenged in your thinking, perhaps being called to step out in something you have never done before that you know God is speaking to you about. It's a place of questioning yourselves "why am I not seeing what I believe for yet?" in the Lord, those promises perhaps that He has already spoken about, and then stepping into them in faith trusting that God will lead the way. Continuing on in Luke - Chapter 22:40 "Pray that you will not fall into temptation"

A couple of things that struck me this morning from Luke. Jesus says to his disciples in 22:40 "Pray that you will not fall into temptation" , and then a few verses later while praying on the Mount of Olives Jesus, 'prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground'. (22:44) His prayer was obviously quite intense and I thought how much of my prayer is so intense that my praying produces sweat? But the prayer he said to the disciples was 'pray that you will not fall into temptation'. And then again in verses 46 "Why are you sleeping?" he asked them. "Get up and pray so that you will not fall into temptation." This call to pray that we don't fall into temptation I believe is so needed. It is when we pray that we realise the different areas that we have fallen into temptation in such seemingly little things, but over time they become big things. Does your boat have life jackets?

Do you go out fishing on a boat without a life jacket? Do you go out on the water unprepared for what may happen? And yet for many Christians this is the state of their Christian walk, they are not prepared for what may come and so when things go wrong they have not spent the time in the word of God, which teaches them truth so that when the enemy comes in like a flood and overwhelms them, they have no where to go except down, because the belt of Truth is like our safety be lt that holds us up when the flood threatens to overwhelm us. Truth is the word of God, truth sets us free, truth brings us life and helps us discern what is of God and what is not of God. A word the Lord was bringing last night is to be prepared and so I encourage you to take the time, set time apart, go in and shut the door to distractions, shut the door to the words the enemy would try and bring, shut the door to discouragement or whatever may be coming that is trying to take your eye, the phone, Facebook, tv...
