Is there a mess at your place?

I just want to encourage those of you who are feeling like there is too much stuff going on that you can't see a way through, that you will get there and that it will be worth it in the end!

Jim and I have this last weekend had someone move into our back part of our house. In the process we needed to move out of there and shift all the stuff up into the front part. In the process I started on cleaning up loads of other cupboards that needed cleaning up. A 'decluttering' started to happen but as the 'spring cleaning' some would call it, started to happen, actually it became a huge overall and a mass throwout, there became mess everywhere. And in fact we are still in it. And I feel like there are some out there who feel like this, that their lives are just a mess.

But like any spring cleaning, it always looks worse before it gets better - well in our house anyway. It is a work in progress and I know we will come through it. But in the process things have to get shifted, cleaned out, rubbish thrown out, stuff we haven’t used thrown out. Sometimes its messier initially when you start spring cleaning and it may last for a few days, or weeks but eventually you get onto dealing with some of the stuff you found that had been hidden away and you decide what you will do with it. Some of the stuff you find, you wondered where it had got to and are thrilled you found it. Eventually you will find yourself functioning better, not being stressed because stuff has been finally dealt with, and then you can see the way through things way more clearly.

I believe there is a ‘decluttering’ going on in the spirit as well. God is dealing with some of the rubbish that you have been carrying that you no longer need that once dealt with will free you up completely and allow you to function in a better capacity and the way you were meant to. A time of getting rid of stuff you no longer need like wrong theologies, wrong thinking, excess luggage that weighs you down and takes up space, but in the process it may feel messy, unsorted, like you are not ever going to get through this, but be encouraged - you will! And you will come out lighter, freer, seeing more clearly, hearing more clearly and with a joy and lightness that only God can bring when an overhaul is done. Allow the process to happen knowing that God has His best for you in mind.

“I am ruined for the ordinary” A statement that can possibly be to some, come from a place of judgement, or it can be from a place of there is more in the Kingdom of God that I am yet to experience or understand, revelation that I have tasted of something that actually shows me that I have not tasted of anything yet. A place where there is such a contentment and joy in what I have seen and longed to see and yet a revelation that there is way more "beyond what I think, ask and imagine" (Eph 3:20) and one that spurs me on to seek and discover all the fullness that could be ours in the Kingdom of God. When we as Christians see other Christians going places or experiencing things that we don’t understand or perhaps we have not yet moved in, we can either become jealous of that person and judge and bring them down to our level, exclude them from our lives or we can choose to be excited by what is happening and be encouraged and spurred on in the Lord for the more than ca...

"A man's enemies will be the members of his own household" Matt 10:36

Recently we have been pondering how to deal with situations in our family that don't line up with the word. What action do we need to take? Are we being too harsh? Do we accept the behaviour or be considered by those around us as "too radical" or "too black and white"? "Where is grace in all of this? How do we love the sinner but hate the sin? What about forgiveness? What is the role of discipline? What makes that sin any worse than lying? What is true love? And there are a lot more questions going through the mind in how to work through this and know God's will and desire for the situation and the person. And firstly to say we have not come to any conclusions and are growing and learning day by day in this but I want to throw it out there. Obedience and Commitment are big things in Gods Kingdom

Reading in Acts 7 this morning the story through Stephen of Abraham being told by God to " Leave your country and your people and go the the land I will show you" So he left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After the death of his father, God sent him to this land where you are now living. He gave him no inheritance here, not even a foot of ground. But God promised him that he and his descendants after him would possess the land, even though at that time Abraham had no child." As I reflected on this and the journey of Abraham stepping out in faith into a land that he received no inheritance in but a promise of what was to come for his descendants of which we live in the fruit of that, I thought of todays generations in which often is only doing things that we want to do or that will benefit us personally as we live for 'today' not worrying about tomorrow. What do Kingdom finances look like?

I was asked by someone the other day what Kingdom finances looked like and I realised that this is an area that needs some discussion. This is my opinion of what Kingdom finances look like according to what the Lord has taught me over the years and to scriptures I have been shown, but I am not the be all and end all to thinking, so it is something you might want to check out for yourselves. The way of the world is to store up riches, to save for a rainy day, to have enough to protect themselves should something happen, that I have earned this and it is mine and therefore I can do what I want with it. The way of the Kingdom is a way of giving to the poor, giving to God's people in need and practicing hospitality, of not worrying about tomorrow, of trusting God for the future and His provision in that time of need when it arises, of everything is His (God's). The lie of a lack of spiritual fathers and mothers

My ponderings this morning. I believe we have a generation (of which I am a part of) at the moment who believe that there were not the spiritual mothers and fathers who taught them in the things of the spirit; of the way they should go etc. I believe to some extent there is truth, we don’t seem to have seen the ‘spiritual hero’s’ that we want to follow in our daily worlds around us. But I also believe that our generation or those who don’t believe there have been the spiritual parents, actually need to repent for not honouring the ones that the Lord has put in their lives and in which we have not received them as such and honoured what they inputted into our lives. There have always been people around us sowing into our lives, sowing truth, sowing help and hope, but because it has not come the way we expect it, we have not honoured what those people have brought. Whats in the garage?

The garage, a place of storage, a place of dealing with things later when time allows, a place often of mess. That's whats in our garage anyway. I woke up out of my sleep last night with this 'there's something in the garage'. So at midnight I woke up Jim and got him out checking out the garage and I found the cars had been left unlocked outside with the windows down, the water heater in the prayer room (one of our garages) was still on from the prayer time that morning, milk on the bench and so thankful that I was woken to check things out. But after this I then had another dream and in this dream we were quests at someone's home invited for dinner but in this home after dinner the host was so concerned about her home and the particular way her curtain was hung it was really fascinating. She was so wrapped up in her house and how things should be done that she failed to notice her husband sitting on the chair waiting to talk to her and in the end he got up ...
