Stir up the gifts within you - Advance!

There is a call I believe in the spirit at the moment, a call of 'advance'. For many God has been teaching and renewing truths of who we are in Christ and the authority we have being children of God, but now I believe the season is changing to one in which we actually take dominion over the land that is before us.  We can only do this when we know who we are and whose authority that we carry, that we can actually move forward and take the lands that the Lord has given us to possess. The word that keeps coming to me since returning to the Waikato is "Stir up the gifts within you!" 2 Tim 1:6.  As we keep praying this is the sense that is there, stir up those gifts and talents that are with you, stir up them and use them for the Kingdom of God.  We are an army and we need each other and I believe there is a call of 'advance' in the body of Christ, now is the time to take the land (and has always been) but there is a fresh wind of the spirit coming as we stir ...

Do you feel small and insignificant today? Well be encouraged!

Reading Psalm 68 and verses 24-27 struck me ……Verse 27 “There is the little tribe of Benjamin, leading them…. What struck me this morning in the great assembly of Israel, in the great congregation, the Little tribe of Benjamin led them.   It hit me how it was a little tribe that led the great congregation. Straight away I got other pictures that came to mind, that of a small tug boat that leads a huge ship safely into harbour, and of the story of the Lion and Mouse where the lion was caught in ropes but the mouse ate the lions ropes around him, setting him free. “God chose the weak things of the world to shame the wise” You may feel you are little, you may feel you are small and what effect could you have, but like that of Gideon with only a small number of warriors, came up again defeated thousands in the Lord. Like David in the eyes of Goliath and yet David overcame Goliath.  Like yeast in a loaf of bread and how it infiltrates everything, so too can ...

Too busy already this year??!!

Last night I had this dream where I saw myself crossing the road over traffic going one way and then the other and train tracks in the middle and I saw my husband calling me back and as I started to come back  to him the traffic was so busy I had to wait in the middle, there were big trucks coming one way, big vehicles coming the other way and the road was really busy and I just sat in the middle until there was a pause in the traffic to get back. As I looked at this dream this morning I know in my heart the interpretation that there is a call to come back to the heart of worship which is Jesus, there is a call in the busyness of life and all that is happening and going on around me, that I need to ensure that I am with my husband (the Father) and not going off on roads that are the wrong road.  At the beginning of new years we start afresh and get busy organising this and that, but it is very important in this time that we keep our focus on Jesus, that we keep spending that...

"I am ruined for the ordinary"

“I am ruined for the ordinary” A statement that can possibly be to some, come from a place of judgement, or it can be from a place of there is more in the Kingdom of God that I am yet to experience or understand, revelation that I have tasted of something that actually shows me that I have not tasted of anything yet.  A place where there is such a contentment and joy in what I have seen and longed to see and yet a revelation that there is way more "beyond what I think, ask and imagine" (Eph 3:20) and one that spurs me on to seek and discover all the fullness that could be ours in the Kingdom of God. When we as Christians see other Christians going places or experiencing things that we don’t understand or perhaps we have not yet moved in, we can either become jealous of that person and judge and bring them down to our level, exclude them from our lives or we can choose to be excited by what is happening and be encouraged and spurred on in the Lord for the more than ca...

Criticism, Judgement & Pride

Last night this thought flicked through my head: "Where there is criticism and judgement then there is pride". It is so easy to step into criticism and judgement.  We look at people and instantly we judge them in some capacity.  We were at a wedding in the weekend and at weddings you sit and you watch people, perhaps on the dance floor, perhaps in how many times someone goes to the bar, perhaps in the way people are dressed or the tattoos on the arms.  In whatever way, we watch and in watching we form some sort of opinion which in reality is some form of judgement about that person. In the same way in church we do the same thing.  Sometimes it can seem like it is all performance, people gathering on a stage and performing rather than worshipping the Lord but we can easily step into judgement and criticise that.  Sometimes we may find the service is not what we expect or how we like it and we step into criticism.  Sometimes there is a call for somethin...

Expectations and frustrations

Last night I had this dream and I saw myself going up the mountain with my husband and as we went up the mountain to the snow I saw the most beautiful waterfall flowing in the bush and the scenery was just beautiful and as we reached base camp there were many people waiting to go on the ski lift to the mountain but they were having to wait because as I watched the snow was melting so fast because the sun was coming out so strong the the snow was melting like right before your eyes and people were no longer able to ski.  People were getting frustrated because they had come to go skiing and now no longer were able to, but for others like myself I so was enjoying the scenery that because the snow was melting there was so much beauty all around.  At the same time there was aeroplanes flying around doing acrobatic flying in the sky and other people were in stands watching the planes flying around. As I looked at this this morning, I believe we are coming into a time where the ...

"Winds of Crisis"

Pray for the “Winds of Crisis” to be stilled. Last night I had this dream and I woke up frightened because of what I saw.   I saw Isis attacking New Zealand, I saw a Maori man rising up like that of Isis full of anger, I saw people running up a hill to get away, but then I saw people handing in their guns in a gun amnesty and others holding onto theirs because if they didn’t they had nothing to protect themselves. It was a frightening dream that woke me up and got me praying. I thought of the scripture in 2 Chronicles 7:14 that says “If my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” I got up and I prayed until I got the peace of God that passes all understanding and no longer aligned or come into agreement to the fear that wants to come in and disrupt  and cripple with a dream such as this.   We ar...
