Is the reality of your heart different to what people see?

I had this dream and in this dream I went to stay with some people but they had no room in the house for me so I stayed in my caravan. But as I went into their house, the kitchen was a disaster, it was full of rotting food so much so that there were maggots growing and moving, there was stuff everywhere.  The people in the house were off helping a handicapped person which was good, but the state of their kitchen was a disaster.  So even though I didn’t know where to begin in cleaning up I started to clean up as they needed a hand and as I started to clean up the people in the house came and helped and switched on the waste disposal unit and the kitchen began to take shape again. I believe this is a word for some of you.   Although you are helping others and doing good things, in the process, your own house, your own heart, is in a mess and you need others to come and help you get started.  The kitchen in dream language often means the hear...

"Put out into the deep water, and let down the nets for a catch"

We have been given a picture recently a couple of times and then again it came on Wednesday night another confirmation of basket loads of fish, a catch so huge.  This same Wednesday I had also read the scripture from Luke 5: 4-11 "Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch".  Simon answered "Master we've worked hard all night and haven't caught anything.   But because you say so, I will let down the nets."  When they had done so, they caught such a large humber of fish that their nets began to break.  So they signalled their partners in the other boat to come and help them, and they came and filled both boats so full that they began to sink. I believe there is a fresh call to put out your net, not only for Jim and I and for the ministry the Lord has given us, but also for each one of you.  You may have been fishing for a long time and felt like you had caught nothing, you may have been working hard day and night and feel tired and ready t...

Respect the culture of the house you enter.

When we were working in China, we learnt that we had to respect the culture of the house we entered otherwise we offended people. For example, if we entered a Tibetans home, we did not take off our shoes or the souls of our feet never pointed to people out of respect of the people as it would cause offence. But in a Ch inese or a Koreans home, we took off our shoes at the door. It took some adjusting but after time we got used to the different ways, and although initially we couldn't understand why this was so and often criticised the other culture from doing things different than our home, over the time we learnt why and understood the differences and learnt to appreciate them and love the people. This morning The Lord is showing me and I believe this is a word for the family of Christ, that when we willingly choose to enter another church then we need to respect the culture that is in that house and honour it. Although it may be different from my own, it is not my place to critic...

Do not fear - it will have the DNA of Jesus

Over the last two weeks I have noticed a shift and an expansion in the spirit of things about to be released, like the final stages of a lady pregnant about to give birth, when what has been inside, can no longer be contained and it has to come out. And in the process of this 'baby' needing to come out there has been this question, this fear, and even this 'holding in the baby' because of the uncertainty of what it will look like, that there will no longer be control and in that there is a fear of releasing it and letting it go. I share this because I believe there are many who are 'pregnant' with dreams, visions, hopes, plans, but because of the uncertainty of what it looks like there is a holding off, a waiting, a hesitation, possibly because in the past things have not turned out as expected, possibly because of hurts and fears of rejection, of what people will think etc.  for whatever reason.  But I want to encourage you today and something The Lord has...

Individuality verses family, pride verses serving.

This morning I had this dream and I want to share some parts of it as I feel it is important to address some of these issues that I saw happening in this dream. One part I saw a young man come into our home with his food, but someone was already preparing food for the family but this young man came in and brought his own food and cooked for himself.  And to me someone else was already cooking, but he just took over, and he was treating it like a flatting situation instead of a family situation where we all ate together around the table and had fellowship together.  As I went to talk to this young one who came in, he wouldn't listen that we wanted what he brought, but he just stormed out and wouldn't even listen or talk, taking friends with him. This I believe is quite significant at the moment as many of us come into the house and family of God but once in, see ourselves as individuals and do what we want instead of contributing to the whole and being a part of the whol...

Guest Ministry - Linda Hartzell from America

We are blessed to have join us on Wednesday the 25th at Puketaha Hall this amazing powerful woman of the Lord - Linda Hartzell - She  travels internationally as a missionary / evangelist and conference speaker.  She has ministered in over 45 nations of the world and has been in ministry for 30 years. I was honoured to be able hear her speak this last Sunday at Life Church and highly recommend her and the power she speaks confirming the season as to which we are in:  Come along - All welcome. 7pm A little about her:     " At the young age of 22 Linda's ministry was launched in the "heat" of the great Argentina Revival.  She has experienced and seen first hand the incredible impact that the power of God can have upon an entire nation, when God's eyes look upon that nation for revival.      Linda's message is prophetic in nature with insight and understanding of the times and a directional message of where God is takin...

Titus 3:9

Yesterday I was at something that was discussing the perceived lack of confidence in the local churches, it was really great, but one thing that stood out for me is as I pondered everything that was discussed was Tit 3:9 "But avoid foolish controversies and genealogies and arguments and quarrels about law because these are unprofitable and useless."  We can so get caught up discussing different  theological issues but forget the main thing and take our eyes of Jesus. In the book of Nehemiah they started to rebuild the wall and as they started to do the work God had called them to, the enemy tried to take away their focus and drag them away. So often that is the case when a work of God is happening the enemy wants to come and distract us with things that take away our focus. In the book of Joshua it says "do not turn to the left or to the right", why? Because our focus goes from where it should be. If we keep our eyes on Jesus then all the distractions will not be en...

Help me Pretty Lady, Help me

I woke up this morning to a cry: "Help me Pretty Lady, Help me". It wrecked my world, it broke my heart and so I am asking, Lord where did that cry come from but in the meantime I have a poem. We're making excuses for not arising and shining, We're making excuses for our churches dying, While there is a call from the lost that is crying, Help me Pretty Lady, Help me. We have the light that brings life, We have the hope to give, We have the love that is needed, Help me Pretty Lady, Help me. There are sheep without shepherds There are children crying and dying The desperate hopeless cry that is calling, Help me Pretty Lady, Help me.
